Frequently Asked Questions

001
What’s the difference between Botox and fillers?

Botox (and similar neuromodulators like Dysport®) relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles — think forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Fillers, on the other hand, add volume to areas like the cheeks, lips, jawline, and under-eyes, and can also soften static lines. At NUE, we often use these treatments together for natural-looking, balanced results.

002
How should I prepare before my Botox or filler appointment?

To minimize bruising and swelling, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements (like ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E) for about 3–5 days before your appointment — unless prescribed by your doctor. It’s also best to avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment. Come with a clean face and skip makeup if possible. Please avoid any vaccines or dental work 2 weeks pre/post appointment.

003
What can I expect right after the treatment? Will there be downtime?

Most Botox appointments have no downtime, but can have minor bruising. You can return to your day right away. Filler may come with some swelling, tenderness, or bruising that can last a few days. Either way, we’ll go over exactly what to expect and how to care for your skin post-treatment so you feel confident and comfortable.

004
After Botox, avoid rubbing the treated area, strenuous workouts, lying flat, or applying makeup for about 4–6 hours. With filler, we recommend skipping heat (like saunas or hot yoga), alcohol, and heavy workouts for 24–48 hours. Please avoid any vaccines or dental work 2 weeks pre/post appointment. Gentle care = optimal results.

How long do Botox and fillers last?

Yes — that’s the goal. At NUE, we believe injectables should enhance your natural features, not change who you are. Our approach is subtle, intentional, and tailored to your anatomy, so you look refreshed, never overdone. We call it “you, powerfully reflected.”

Will I still look like myself?
